Yogurt

Yogurt is a nutritious dairy product made by the bacterial fermentation of milk, using cultures such as lactobacillus and bifidobacterium. Known for its creamy texture, tangy flavor, and health benefits, yogurt provides a rich source of calcium, protein, and probiotics.

1. Fat content: Select a yogurt type based on your dietary needs. Full-fat yogurt is creamier and higher in natural fats, beneficial for toddlers and some adults, while reduced-fat (2% or 1%) or non-fat options offer fewer calories, suitable for older children and adults watching their calorie intake.

2. Fortification: Some yogurts are fortified with additional nutrients like vitamins A and D. Check the label to ensure you're receiving these benefits

3. Dietary considerations: If you are lactose intolerant, consider lactose-free yogurts that offer the same nutritional benefits without the lactose, aiding in easier digestion.

When selecting fruit yogurts, focus on options with low added sugars and natural flavors.
