Filled Biscuits

Devi Gajendran (Lead Clinical Nutritionist @truthin)

Many filled biscuits contain trans fats and saturated fats to enhance flavor and texture and preserve freshness. Trans fats are particularly harmful and have been linked to an increased risk of heart disease, stroke, and type 2 diabetes by the WHO. Even when the label states 0 grams of trans fats, it can still contain up to 0.5 grams per serving, which can add up if you consume multiple servings. So limit consumptiom of products with high saturated fats to a single serve occasionally.

Opt for filled biscuits with natural fruit fillings over those with artificial flavors and sweeteners.
